WHY COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE?   SO WHATS WRONG WITH CONVENTIONAL MEDICINES?
Relieving pain has been around since the beginning of time. Early civilisations all had ways of addressing chronic doscomfort - long before NHS conventional treatment was even thought of! And now, their methodologies and techniques have been improved to reflect the way we live today. Nothing; except that some can simply act as an anodyne without managing the basic cause. GPs have limited time to really listen to patients - and that's where we come in.

DOES IT WORK ?   WHAT ABOUT THE COST ?
Yes. Stress and sickness often go hand in hand: the more relaxed and happy you are, the healthier you will be. It's a proven fact and this is the basis on which we practise. It depends. It depends upon the correct efficacious course of treatment that's beneficial to you. An initial consultation is essential and our fees are from £30 per hour.

BUT WHAT IS COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE?
Complementary medicine is based on the harmonious interaction between the brain, the nervous system and the endrocrine glands which allow the immune system to function properly. Diagnosis of any malfunction in the body can be assessed through diet analysis, mind-body medicines, allergy intolerances and self-help practices. But there's more to it than that: it also encompasses psychotherapy and counselling through to relieving muscle and sports' injury pain.

WHAT'S INVOLVED?
Well that depends on the treatment required - and the treatment depends on the type of 'problem' you have. An initial consultation is imperative and our fees are from £30 an hour.

WILL IT BENEFIT ME?
Of course it will. At the SK Practice, we've treated all types of patients from all walks of life - and all ages, with equal success. The pressures and strains of everyday living can impact on us all and, in time, these stresses can manifest themselves in adverse ways. Sometimes, it's more beneficial to seek advice before minor symptoms become serious.

SO WHY DON'T MORE PEOPLE SEEK COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE?
In the UK, entrenched blind-faith values in the NHS have resulted in the majority of the population remaining sceptical and lazy. It's too 'easy' to pass our health - in the broadest sense, over to our local GP. But things are changing rapidly; especially on the continent where 48% of Germans and 42% of French regularly visit a complementary therapist. They have more time to listen and to treat the patient as a 'whole' being. Those who turn to therapists for a specific problem often experience other positive benefits.
